Reblogged of Maya Angelou for Black History Month
There are so many incredible sides to Dr. Maya Angelou. Poet, activist, writer, mentor, teacher, her resume would only do her justice if we follow this short Biography, although this this not capture here entire essense.
She marched next to Dr. Luther King, then Malcom X, but she used her words very softly but made her firmness understood. Always a lady with great dignity.
My first encounter with her work was, e.g: Why Does The Cage Bird Sing. From then on I was hooked, I sobadmired her and how eloquently she sent you to hell.
Just remembering a sister friend and a National Treasure.
